Over the weekend I bought two (new to me) musical devices/equipment.

Not sure if you saw my other post written by AI, I didn't because I don't care for AI content anymore.
This is all me, writing with my two hands to tell you I did a thing. Purchased two new devices to add to my inventory of musical equipment. I now am the proud owner of an FM Synthesizer and an Arturia BeatStep Pro. The Synth was sort of an impromptu purchase, seller said "Hey, would you be interested in this since your buying this?" and I said "Sir, I am fiscally irresponsible so let me ask my wife and get back to you." (She said yes btw)
So now I have these two cool devices that work well with each other, the seller even included a bunch of quality cables for me to use. First off I need to say that I really do not regret buying the BeatStep Pro, this thing is so fun I can't stop using it. It works as a DAW controller and is mainly a sequencer but It also has keyboard function for playing piano, so I am currently using it as a way to start off a song. The lights make me all giddy as I watch them blink because apparently I am a simple man. It looks sleek yet feels like quality. The biggest issue I am having is the device does not seem to grab the right clock settings from my DAW, the internal clock seems fine but when using the USB option it tends to fluctuate quite a bit. I can also feel a slight delay when trying to play notes, but this might be a DAW issue rather than the device itself.
The FM Synth which is a Yamaha FB-01 is really neat, this is my first synth ever! So routing the sound through my mixer and into my DAW was a bit of a challenge as well as getting it to work with the BeatStep Pro. I did get it working after about 2 hours of fiddling and by that time I was ready for bed but excited to wake up and continue tinkering. I haven't made anything yet with the synth but I have some potential ideas. There is also supposed to be some software so I can create my own presets/soundbanks. For now the default ones should do just fine. The basic sounds I was able to use made me happy enough. Very retro/videogame style sounds with some really cool bass as well.
So yeah, there you have it. My weekend adventures, which include losing money, gaining equipment, and of course exploring the wonderful world of music.
